PUBLIC OCCURRENCES 5-7-14

5-7-2014 — SBDM PARENT ELECTIONS AT WCHS

    SBDM parent elections will be conducted at the WCHS during the week of May 12. Nominations may be submitted in writing to the principal's office May 12-13 during normal business hours. Any parent/guardian of a child who will be a student at WCHS next year is eligible to serve. Voting will take place May 15-16 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day.

RETIREMENT

RECEPTION

    A retirement reception for Chief Warrant Officer 4 Retired William 

D. Inman, Senior Army Instructor Wayne County High School JROTC will be held on Saturday, May 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. The reception will be held in the Pickerel Auditorium at the Wayne County High School. 

Refreshments will be served after the presentation. Please RSVP by

HUMANE SOCIETY SPAY AND NEUTER CLINIC SIGN-UPS

    The Wayne County Humane Society will be having sign-ups for a spay 

and neuter clinic on Thursday, May 8 from 4-7 p.m. at McDonalds. They are currently only accepting sign-ups for male animals only.  The clinic will be held on Thursday, May 22.

REVIVAL AT FREEDOM UNITED BAPTIST CHURCH

    Freedom United Baptist Church is currently having revival services 

nightly at 7 p.m. The evangelist is Bro. Jimmy Nevels.

MILL SPRINGS CORNBREAD FESTIVAL

    The 21st Annual Cornbread Festival will be held Saturday, May 24 at Mill Springs Park. Pinto beans, hoecakes, homemade desserts will be served from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. A hot dog lunch is also 

available. Music will be provided by the Fall Creek Boys. There will 

be arts and crafts vendors, a corn grinding demonstration, and the 

gift shop will be open.

MORROW FAMILY REUNION

    The family and friends of Charlie and Mattie Morrow are invited to a family reunion on Saturday, May 17. The reunion will be held at the 

Morrow Farm in the Delta community on Zion Road at the shelter house. A potluck lunch will be served at 1 p.m. For more information,
