The Monticello Independent Board of Education approved the 2008-2009
tentative school council allocation during their regular monthly meeting
Monday evening, March 17.
According to Superin-tendent Donnie Robison, the tentative school
council allocation for next year is the same that the school has been doing
for the past several years. He recommended that board members approve the
tentative school council allocation as submitted.
In other news, the board also reviewed the Monticello School staffing
policy, which is something they are required to do every year.
During his Superintendent's report, Robison informed the board that
contractors would be at the school during Spring Break to tie in the gutters
in the front of the school.
He also noted that they have signed off on five companies that are done
with their part of the new middle and high school project.
In other action, the board:
€ discussed the new LED sign the board recently agreed to purchase to
promote the school. Board member Jerry Lair noted that the board needed to
decide what they wanted to put on the opposite side of the sign.
Members of the board are still looking into possible sites where the
sign could be placed.
