Local man is in serious condition following shooting

Monticello A local man remains hospitalized in serious condition, following a

shooting that occurred on Thursday, April 24. Irvin Southwood was listed in

serious but stable condition at the University of Kentucky Medical Center

Monday, recovering from several gunshot wounds.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:52 p.m. on Easy Street.

Monticello Police were alerted that gunshots had been fired in that area.

Southwood was transported to the Wayne County Hospital and was flown to the

University of Kentucky Medical Center.

Edwin Dishman, 21, of Monticello surrendered himself to the Monticello

Police Department on Friday, April 25 at approximately 4:25 p.m. Dishman has

been charged with first degree assault, according to Police Chief Ralph

Miniard.

No further details regarding the incident have been released. The

investigation is continuing.

The Monticello Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Wayne

County Sheriff¹s Department and Wayne County EMS.
