Wayne County School Board honors retiring employees

Monticello — The Wayne County Board of Education honored their retiring employees at the regular monthly meeting on Monday, June 15, with a reception and special recognition program.

Board chairman Patty Roberts recognized 10 retirees who had contributed

223.5 years of service to the children of the Wayne County School District.

Each of the retirees were given a plaque in recognition of their service.



Retirees who were honored include: Donna Anderson, 24 years; Jimmy Asberry, 13.5 years; Wanda Barber, 29.5 years; David Bowlin, seven years; Clara Jewell Criswell, 27 years; Carolyn Davis, 38.5 years; Mary Hill, 28.5 years; Patsy Sexton, 15.5 years; Gale Ogle, six years; and Margie Hancock,

34 years.

In other news, the board:

€ set the meal prices for the upcoming school year. Prices will remain the same on the main lines, while there will be a slight increase on the ala carte items.

€ approved participation in KSBA's Kentucky School Board Insurance Trust.

€ approved application for emergency certification for substitute teachers for 2009-2010.

€ approved the first reading of KSBA policy and procedure updates #32 and #13.

€ approved the annual agreements with Southeast/ Southcentral Kentucky Edu-cation Development Co-op for the upcoming school year.
