Christmas Parade is set

— The holiday season is just around the corner and the Monticello-Wayne
County Chamber of Commerce is busy preparing for the 39th Annual Christmas
Parade, which is set for Friday, December 4. The parade marks the official
kickoff for the Christmas season in Monticello.
The theme for this year's parade is "A CHRISTmas Promise," and Harlan
Ogle has been selected as the Grand Marshal
The Chamber is encouraging businesses, organizations, clubs, churches
and schools to participate in this year's parade. Floats are always a crowd
favorite, and there will be prize money and trophies awarded for winning
floats in several different categories.
The deadline to register for this year's parade is November 25.
The Chamber is also hosting the 2nd Annual Main Street Decorating
Contest. It is open to all residents and businesses located along Main
Street in Monticello.
There is no entry fee to participate in the decorating contest. Just
contact the Chamber office and submit your name and address. Registration
deadline is December 1. Prize money will be awarded to the winner in the
residential category and in the business category.
