Monticello School gets "unqualified opinion" on the 2007-08 audit

Sylvia McGinnis, News Reporter
Wayne County Outlook

Monticello Monticello Independent School received an unqualified opinion on the

audit for the 2007-08 school year. Barry Daulton, CPA, presented the audit

to board members during their regular monthly meeting Monday evening,

November 17.

Daulton noted that an unqualified opinion, or clean opinion, is the

highest opinion an auditor can give and it means there were no

qualifications the auditor had to issue to make the report. Daulton informed

the board that there were no problems with the 2007-08 audit.

In other news, the board recognized students that had competed in the

Wayne County 4-H Shooting Sports state competition on September 20.

Superinten-dent Donnie Robison noted that it was important to see so many

young people interested in shooting sports and to take it so seriously.

Robison presented each student with a certificate of appreciation and

recognition for their accomplishments at the state competition.

During the meeting the board also set ticket prices for the 2008-09

school year. Tickets will cost $4 at the door or students may buy tickets at

school for $1 each. Season tickets cost $25 for the upcoming season.

In other news, the board:

€ approved one individual as an emergency substitute teacher for the

2008-09 school year.

€ heard a personnel report.

€ heard a report from Superintendent Donnie Robison. He noted that

attendance has generally been pretty good for this time of year. Robison

also gave the board an update on the LED school sign.
