Park Board to move ahead with painting new restroom facility

Melodie Phelps, News Editor
Wayne County Outlook

Monticello The Park Board met on Wednesday, November 12 and agreed to move ahead

with painting the new restroom facility at the park.

The building project is completed, and a bill for reimbursement for

construction has been sent to Frankfort. The project was partially funded by

a GOLD grant from the state. The most recent bill sent to Frankfort for

reimbursement was $50,000.

During the meeting, the board discussed the potential hiring of a

bookkeeper, but action was tabled until the next meeting.

The board had received a request to keep the park open longer with the

lights on several days a week, so people can use the tennis courts during

the winter months. The board opted not to change the winter hours.

Also during the meeting, the board discussed repairs that need to be

made to the gazebo.

In the spring, the Monticello Woman's Club and the staff at the park

plan to do some minor repairs to the gazebo.

The next meeting for the Park Board will be on December 10 at 5:30 p.m.

at Monticello City Hall.
