Bids for the construction portion of the new Area Career and Technology Center project were approved during a special meeting of the Wayne County  Board of Educa-tion on Monday, July 2.

Board members reviewed bids that were compiled by Alliance
Corporation, who is the construction manager for the project, and
approved the package at a total cost of $9.2 million.
The initial bid package for the project included a lot of the prep
work at the site and that work is currently underway.
The board adjourned their meeting and the Wayne County School
District Finance Corpora-tion was called to order.
The finance corporation is made up of school board members.
The group then approved a resolution authorizing the issuance of
approximately $14.2 million in revenue bonds for the project, which is the estimated total cost for construction.
