Edith Lucille Raines Fairchild, age 80, passed away Monday, February 1, 2010 at the Wayne County Hospital.

She was born on December 11, 1929 in the Mullentown area of Wayne County, the daughter of the late Herb and Audie Crabtree Raines.

She married Chester Fairchild, who preceded in death.

She is survived by two sons-Ronnie (and wife Helen Fairchild) and Jerry Fairchild; two daughters-Connie (and husband Clyde Adkins) and Darlene (and husband Richard Sexton); one daughter-in-law-Robin Fairchild; six grandchildren-Kim Davis, Stephanie Massengale, Amanda Brummett, Jayson and Justin Fairchild and Dustin Adkins; 10 great-grandchildren; and one sister-Thelma Bertram.

She was preceded in death by one son-Scott Fairchild; one sister-Elsie Rigney; and 3 brothers-Guy, Ray, and Beecher Raines.

She had accepted Jesus as her personal Savior many years ago at Sandusky Chapel Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Thursday, February 4, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Clyde Adkins officiating. Burial followed in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
