MARGARET FRANCES JONES LESLIE

Sept. 6, 1940-March 20, 2008

Margaret Frances Jones Leslie, age 67, of New Castle, Ind., passed away Thursday, March 20, 2008 at Community Hospital of Anderson.

She was born September 6, 1940 in Monticello, Ky., the daughter of the late Henry Spencer and Lyda B. Anderson Jones.

On August 9, 1957 she married James Leslie, who survives.

She is survived by six children-Peggy Humbles and her companion Jake of Shelbyville, Ind., Timothy Junior Leslie and his wife Leslie of New Castle, Ind., Cheryl Maloyed and her companion Jon of Greencastle, Ind., Allen Leslie and his wife Tina of Goshen, Ind., Robin Swim and her husband Richard of New Castle, Ind., Debby Leslie and her companion Craig of New Castle, Ind.

She is also survived by one sister-Doris Townsend of Laporte, Texas; one brother-Henry Spencer "Bobby" Jones, Jr. and his wife Peggy of Kennard, Ind.; one sister-in-law-Darlene Koon of Rushville, Ind.; 15 grandchildren-Linny Humbles, Chelle Humbles Cox, Timothy Allen Leslie, Kailey Leslie, Reba Leslie, Jamie Maloyed, Angelica Bowman, Ashley Maloyed, James Stanley Leslie, Cody Thor Leslie, Drew Swim, Trace Byers, Lacey Hammonds, Mekayla Hammonds and Austin Hammonds; 10 great-grandchildren-Aaron Humbles, Ayden Humbles, Raistlin Cox, Selina Cox Humbles, Nigel Humbles, Logan Williams, Jace Phillips, Katelyn Leslie, Cristen Leslie, Terris Maloyed and Madyson Olsen; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was associated with the South Side Church of the Nazarene of New Castle.

She had been employed in public service for many years and most recently by the Courier Times and the Indianapolis Star.

She enjoyed playing bingo, fishing, reading, playing computer games and crocheting. She was also a Colts fan and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her dog Bow.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 24, 2008 at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Michael Dees officiating. Burial was in the Green Hills Memory Garden.

Main and Davis Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
