KATHERYN THURSTON

Aug. 7, 1916-April 30, 2008

Katheryn Thurston, age 91 of Monticello, Ky., passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2008 at her home.

She was born August 7, 1916 in the Cabell community of Wayne County, Ky., the daughter of the late Leo and Linnie Bell Southerland.

On September 16, 1934 she married Carl Thurston, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by three daughters-Doris Robinson and Joyce Lyons, both of Monticello, Ky. and Janice Chandler of Madison, Ind.

She is also survived by five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers-Earl and Billy Southerland; and two sisters-Ina Walters and Wilma Southerland.

She was a member of Fall Creek Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 3, 2008 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Dewey Burks officiating. Burial was in the Elk Spring Cemetery.

Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
