THELMA BURGESS BELL

May 13, 1914-May 7, 2008

Thelma Burgess Bell, age 93, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at Livingston Regional Hospital.

She was born May 13, 1914 in Monticello, Ky., the daughter of the late Alfred and Mary Denton Burgess.

On June 12, 1936 she married Clyde James Bell, who preceded her in death on August 7, 1989.

She is survived by seven children-Jack Bell, Alice Tucker, Anna Ruth Gregory, Billy Bell, Bobby Bell, Nancy Decker and Harold Bell.

She is also survived by one brother-Melvin Burgess of Byrdtown, Tenn.,

16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by six siblings-Katherine McCutchen, Helen Fuller, Emergene Kelsey, Russell, Ed and Paul Burgess.

She had accepted Christ as her Savior and in July 1954 she became a member of Canada's Creek Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 10, 2008 in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Bobby Morrow and Bro. Mike Mitchell officiating. Burial was in the Elk Spring Cemetery.

Hoyt G. Hickey and Son Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
