MYRTLE ALMA NICHOLAS
June 22, 1923-June 22, 2008
Myrtle Alma Nicholas, age 85, of Bronston, Ky., passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2008 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Ky.
She was born June 22, 1923 in the Kidder community of Wayne County, Ky., the daughter of the late Logan and Martha Shelton Thompson.
On February 24, 1944 she married Terry Nicholas, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by three sons‹Arthur and Neva Troxtell of Bronston, Ky., Larry Nicholas of Bronston, Ky. and Homer Nicholas of Lawrenceburg, Ky.; step mother-Dessie Dalton of the Kidder community of Wayne County, Ky.
She is also survived by four half sisters-Opal, Judy, Gloria and Mary; three grandchildren-Sheila Breshears, Lisa Troxtell and Dwight Troxtell; five great-grandchildren-Paige Neely, Kadence Neely, Isaacs Troxtell, Ginger Stigall and Matthew Cassada; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers-Ephraim, Arthur and Jerry Thompson; six sisters-Flora Neely, Eula Nicholas, Fonzia Morrow, Mary Nicholas, Ruthie Corner and Rena Nicholas; and a great-granddaughter-Kylee Neely.
She was a homemaker and a member of Piney Grove United Baptist Church #2 of Bronston, Ky. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and going to church.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at 1 p.m. at Piney Grove United Baptist Church #2 in Bronston, Ky. with Bro. Herstle Clark officiating. Burial was in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Kidder.
Lake Cumberland Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
