10-9-13 —     April 15, 1924‹Oct. 3, 2013

    Richard Kent "Dick" Rogers, Sr., age 89, former resident of Frankfort,

Ind. passed away October 3, 2013 at Parkwest Hospital in Knoxville, Tenn.

    He was born April 15, 1924 in Los Angeles, Calif. the son of the late

Bertram Livezey "Burt" and Anna Elizabeth (Messic) Rogers.

    He married Edith Lorraine Kelly on July 15, 1946, who survives.

    He spent his early years in Cressy, Merced and Santa Rosa, Calif. before

moving to Frankfort in 1946 from La Sierra, Calif.

    A veteran of WWII he served from 1941-44 with the US Army, stationed

state side as a surgical assistant at Fort Sam Houston.

    He was a proud family man, he loved his wife and children, a patient man

whom strived for perfection in detail, was very generous and was committed

to his relationship with God.

    He was a successful builder during the Rogers Construction era, building

homes in Frankfort and a number of churches including the Seventh Day

Adventist Church on South Maish Road in Frankfort. He was the a member of

the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

    He was a private pilot.

    He is survived by his son‹James D "Jim" Rogers, of Indianapolis;

daughter‹Cheryl Ann (Edmund) Komorowski, of Knoxville, Tenn.; brother‹Nole

Rogers, of Calif.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by two daughters‹Edith Inez Rogers and Linda

Sue Rogers; son‹Richard K. "Rick" Rogers, Jr.; granddaughter‹Lindsay Leigh

Bortle Rogers; and two sisters‹Phyllis Mazur and Ruth Morris.

    Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 6 p.m. in the

funeral home chapel. Family burial was held Wednesday, October 9 at Cicero

Cemetery, Cicero, Ind.
