Holiday closing are listed for New Years holiday

The Wayne County Clerk’s Office and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office will be open all day Tuesday, December 31. Other offices in the courthouse will only be open half a day on December 31. All offices in the courthouse will be closed Wednesday, January 1.

County Court Clerk Carol Jones noted that the computers used for car licensing will be down on January 2 and January 3, but her office will be open for other business.

Monticello City Hall will be closed January 1 for New Years.

County officials to be sworn in January 5 at ceremony

County officials will be sworn in during a special ceremony on Sunday, January 5 at 2 p.m. at the ASPIRE Center. Circuit Clerk Richard Morrow will be administering the oath of office for all county officials who were elected or re-elected in November’s general election.
