50s Celebration scheduled

A 50s Celebration is set for May 25 in downtown Monticello, and organizers are currently planning a variety of events. This marks the second year for the downtown celebration.

There will be something for everyone at this year’s celebration—from antique cars, to favorite foods, to live music and special contests.

A group of musicians is scheduled to perform 50s and 60s music live during the celebration. Antique cars will be on display around the square area. Anyone who is interested in bringing an antique car to the celebration should call 348-0167 or 348-3064.

Members of the local motorcyclists Cruiser Riders group will have motorcycles at the festival, according to organizers. Contests will include a Best Dressed event.
