JUANITA MERIDETH

Oct. 4, 1926-May 21, 2003

Juanita Merideth, age 76, formerly of Monticello, Ky. passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2003 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, Ky.

She was born in Madison County, Ky. on October 4, 1926, the daughter of the late Fred Johns and Goldie Stevens.

She married Alvin Merideth, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by three children-Johnny Johns of Crab Orchard, Ky., Linda Craft of Orlando, Fla., and Dorothy Merideth of Kokomo, Ind.; one brother-Robert Johns of Versailles, Ky.; two sisters-Nina Land of Crab Orchard, Ky. and Elizabeth Merideth of Lexington, Ky.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was a homemaker.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 24, 2003 at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Bobby Guffey officiating. Burial was in the Elk Spring Cemetery.

CHARLOTTE "TIZZIE" STRINGER

Jan. 4, 1937-May 19, 2003

Charlotte "Tizzie" Stringer, age 66, of the Parnell community, Monticello, Ky. passed away Monday, May 19, 2003 at her home.

She was born in Wayne County, Ky. on January 4, 1937, the daughter of the late Absolom Stearns and Sara Vogler.

She married Orl Stringer, who survives.

She is survived by four children-Gina Ramsey, Janet Cummings, Virginia "Bo" Morrow, and Sandy Clark, all of Monticello, Ky.; two brothers-Jack Stearns and Joe Stearns, both of Louisville, Ky.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 21, 2003 at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Harold Smith officiating. Burial was in the Elk Spring Cemetery.

DESTINY LYNN SMITH

May 24, 2003-May 24, 2003

Destiny Lynn Smith, an infant, of Monticello, Ky. passed away Saturday, May 24, 2003 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

She was born Saturday, May 24, 2003, the daughter of James and Casey Smith, who survive.

She is also survived by one brother Devin Smith of Monticello, Ky.

Graveside services were held Monday, May 25, 2003 at the Parmely’s Grove Cemetery with Bro. Sam Humble and Bro. Kelvin Upchurch officiating. Burial was in the Parmley’s Grove Cemetery.

Heartland Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
