Shrum was indicted for murder and two counts of assault, following a two-vehicle crash on KY 90 in June. Ricky L. Smith, 42, died in the collision. Officials have said Shrum and Smith were involved in an altercation at another location on June 5, and Smith had left the scene of the fight.
