WCHS cheerleaders to hold chili fundraiser
    A chili fundraiser for the Wayne County High School Cheerleaders is 
set for Wednesday, January 15 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the ASPIRE 
Center. The fundraiser is sponsored by the Monticello Police Department.
    Wendy's chili, a grilled cheese or peanut butter sandwich and a 
drink will be available for purchase. Donations will be accepted to 
help send the cheerleaders to the national competition.
Historical Society to hold general meeting
    The Wayne County Historical Society will hold their general meeting 
on Tuesday, January 21 at 7 p.m. in their meeting room. Jane Dalton 
will speak on "Sears and Roebuck Houses by Mail."
Closings for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
    All offices of the Wayne County Courthouse will be closed Monday, 
January 20 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
    The Wayne County Justice Center will be closed Monday, January 20 
for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
Early deadlines for January 22 newspaper
    The Wayne County Outlook will be closed Monday, January 20 for 
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Early deadlines will be observed for the 
January 22 edition of the newspaper.
    All photos, news articles and letters to the editor must be 
submitted by 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 16. Deadline for regular 
classified ads will be 12 noon on Thursday, January 16. Last minute 
classified ads will be accepted through 12 noon on Friday, January 
17. Display advertising must be submitted by 4 p.m. on Thursday, 
January 16. The deadline for all color ads will be 12 noon on 
Thursday, January 16.
Chamber of Commerce luncheon is January 16
    The Monticello-Wayne County Chamber of Commerce will hold its 
January luncheon in the meeting room at the Wayne County Public 
Library at 12 noon on Thursday, January 16. Brett Taver, Executive 
Director of Southeast Kentucky Economic Development, will be the 
speaker. The cost of the meal is $7. For more information call the

Jordan Crouch Youth Center Drama Team to present performance
    The Jordan Crouch Memorial Youth Center's Drama Team will conduct 
their first performance of skits and black light on Saturday, 
February 15 at 6 p.m. at the youth center just off Highway 1275 at 
Cumberland Crossing.

    Everyone is welcome to attend and no admission will be charged.
