Monticello — The Monticello Police Department has identified one of the two men they

are seeking in connection with the robbery and assault of a local barber.

Tommy S. Bell, 40, is wanted for robbery, burglary and theft by unlawful

taking over $10,000, according to Monticello Police Chief Ralph Miniard.

Police say Bell was accompanied by a second suspect, who has yet to be

identified, when they robbed and assaulted Pierce Troxell at approximately

9:30 a.m. on Monday, January 25 at his barber shop, The Hair Den, on

Michigan Avenue. A quantity of cash and Troxell's automobile was taken

during the robbery.

Police said that Bell was armed with a handgun during the robbery.

Troxell suffered cuts, abrasions, and broken bones in the incident. He

was transported to the Wayne County Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Troxell's vehicle, a Nissan Sentra, was found later that day abandoned

in McCreary County. According to the McCreary County Sheriff's Department,

they were responding to a domestic violence call at about 11 a.m. that day

when they discovered the car on Strunk Ridge Road.

Police indicate that Bell should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information about Bell's whereabouts or the identity of the

second suspect is asked to contact the Monticello Police Department at (606)

348-9313.
