Third person in area dies from H1N1 flu

Wayne County Outlook

Monticello — The Lake Cumberland District Health Department has reported a third

person has died in this area as a result of H1N1.

In a press release issued on December 3, health department officials

said that a 70-year-old McCreary County man passed away at Lake Cumberland

Regional Hospital.

There were significant underlying medical conditions present, according

to information from health officials.

The two other deaths reported in this area included a McCreary County

woman in her mid-50's who passed away at an out-of-state hospital. In

October, a 28-year-old man died of H1N1 at Lake Cumberland Regional

Hospital.

The Lake Cumberland District Health Department is planning another H1N1

clinic on Thursday, December 10 from 5 until 8 p.m. The vaccination is free.

Officials said that this will likely be the last clinic of the year, and

plans are to open this one to the general public, including those outside

the priority groups.
