10-13-10 — TOUR Southern and Eastern Kentucky (TOUR SEKY) invites you to hike the "Big South Fork Gateway Circuit of Trails" October 23 at Monticello-Wayne County Memorial Park in Monticello, Ky. The free hike will be held rain or shine from 2-4 p.m. The first 300 participants will receive free gifts including a walking stick, re-useable water bottle and first aid kit.
"The Big South Fork Gateway Circuit of Trails" is funded in part by a grant from the Appalachian Re-gional Commission (ARC). The grant was written by and awarded to TOUR SEKY. The trail system will consist of four trails for hiking and biking once all trails are completed. Trails range in skill level from easy to moderate and difficult.
"This trail system will give residents and visitors another option to get out and enjoy the beauty of our region while getting some exercise at the same time," said Jeff Crowe, TOUR SEKY President/CEO. "We hope by providing this additional recreational opportunity, we will also open the door for local entrepreneurship."
