6-23-10 — The principal search at Monticello Independent School continues,
according to Superintendent Donnie Robison. During the regular
monthly meeting of the Monticello Board of Education Monday evening,
June 14, Robison informed board members that the site based councils
have been in the process of developing the criteria for both
principal positions.
Robison noted that he had previously met with the high school site
based council to discuss the characteristics the high school
principal should possess. The high school principal position covers
grades 6-12.
He added that the elementary site based council was meeting Monday
evening, at the same time as the school board, to develop the
criteria for the elementary principal position. The elementary
principal will cover grades K-5.
In other action, the board entered into an executive session to
conduct the superintendent evaluation. No action was taken during the
closed meeting; however, up returning to open session, board member
Jerry Lair noted that Superintendent Robison received a favorable
evaluation.
