6-9-10 — A special Luminaria Ceremony, which will be held during the American
Cancer Society Relay For Life of Wayne County, will remember those lost to
cancer and honor those who have survived. Luminaria will be lit at dark on
Friday, June 18 at the Monticello-Wayne County Park to represent these
individuals.
Anyone desiring to make a luminaria donation may do so by contacting
Angela Preat at 606-348-5383 or 606-307-3769 or email her at: jandapreat@

Each luminaria bag is a $5 donation to the American Cancer Society.
"Each luminaria represents the life of someone who has battled cancer.
It is a beautiful sight when all the bags with candles are illuminated
around the track," said Angela Preat, volunteer luminaria chair. "The
Luminaria Ceremony is a moving way to remember loved ones lost to cancer and
to pay tribute to cancer survivors."
Relay celebrates people who have battled cancer, remembers loved ones
lost, and provides participants with an opportunity to fight back against
the disease‹all aimed at furthering the American Cancer Society's vision of
a world with less cancer and more birthdays.
Relay For Life of Wayne County will be held on Friday, June 18 at
Monticello-Wayne County Park. Entertainment and activities will start at 6
p.m. Opening Ceremonies and Survivor's Lap will begin at 7 p.m. The event is
