Slone charged with burglary

Monticello — A Burnside man has been arrested in connection with the burglary at a rural Wayne County grocery store.

According to Wayne County Sheriff Charles Boston, Anthony Slone, 28 was charged with burglary third degree, receiving stolen property under $10,000, fleeing or evading police and receiving stolen property under $500.

The charges stem from an investigation on Sunday, November 22, when Deputies Jerry Coffey and Bryan Worley responded to a call at Susie's Market on West KY 90.

Upon arrival, the deputies noticed a subject looking around the west corner of the store. As they approached, the subject fled on foot. Deputies pursued the suspect. He was caught and taken into custody.

Further investigation revealed that items from the store were found inside the vehicle that Slone was driving. The vehicle had been reported stolen earlier in the day.

Deputies said Slone was wearing a mask and gloves.

He was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center. The investigation is continuing.
