6-9-10 — On Saturday, May 8 the Wayne County Varsity Football team hit Wayne
County to clean roadside in the Steubenville and Ritner areas.
The Cardinals dawned orange vests instead of helmets and spent a
Saturday morning eradicating litter from Wayne County's roadsides.
The Roadside Litter Clean-up program is open to any non-profit
organizations looking for fundraising opportunities and a chance to give to
the community.
The Football Cardinals took advantage of the opportunity and tackled 10
miles.
Funds earned from the cleanup will go to the Cardinals' annual trip to
Jabez, Ky. where the team will hone and develop the skills needed for a
successful 2010 season.
The team would like to express its appreciation to all those who
participated in the educational opportunity that not only will benefit the
Cardinal Football Program but more importantly beautifies our county's
roadsides.
