Monticello — The Russell County 15-year-old Babe Ruth All-Stars won their district
tournament at Lindsey Wilson College's baseball complex and moved on to the
state Babe Ruth tournament in Lexington.
The team includes players Roger Brumley and Kyle Gehring, who are from
Wayne County.
Russell County defeated Rockcastle County 3-1 on Friday night, giving
them a perfect run through the district tourney. The team traveled to
Lexington last week for a game with Ashland in the state tournament.
The team is coached by Richard Bennett, David Aaron and Josh Popplewell.
