Hall signs to play football at Lindsey Wilson College

CNHI

6-9-10 —     Wayne County High School Senior D.J. Hall has signed a letter of intent

to play football for Lindsey Wilson College. D.J. will be receiving a

four-year football scholarship from the private college located in Columbia,

Ky.

D.J. started all four years at running back during his high school

career for the Cardinal Football Team under the direction of Coach Shawn

Thompson, after moving to Wayne County at the end of his eighth grade year

from Columbus, Ohio.

"He is our all time leading player first in total touch downs and

rushing touch downs and second in career rushing yards," noted Coach

Thompson.  "He has ranked as high as second in rushing yards per game

amongst the Class AAA schools during the season. Not only is he an excellent

runner, but he is an excellent blocker with good hands."

Lindsey Wilson Head Football Coach Chris Oliver believes D.J. has a

great chance to play a major role in building the tradition of Lindsey

Wilson football.

"Our staff evaluated a lot of running backs this year, and we believe

that D.J. is one of the top players in the state at his position in this

class. He is very versatile in his running, blocking, and pass receiving. In

addition, I think he has the tools to be successful in the classroom and get

a great education here at Lindsey Wilson College, and we're excited about

adding a person of his character to our program."

D.J. will be playing running back under his same high school number. He

will leave for football training at the end of July.

"It's a dream come true for me," said the 19-year-old senior. "I'm

really excited about it, but a little jittery too. I'm the first one in my

family to go to college in my generation."

D.J. is the son of Zabrina Hall and the step son of Susan Dixson and

David A. Dixson. He has seven brothers and sisters.

He is hoping for a big turnout of relatives from as far away as Georgia,

Ohio, and Virginia to attend his graduation.

Besides football, D.J. has enjoyed studying Science and Biology in

particular. He mentioned being a member of the football club, as well.

He is also an active member of Pleasant View Baptist Church Youth Group

and the choir. He also maintains a part time job.

"I will miss representing Wayne County. We went to the playoffs every

year I have been here. I have a lot of good memories," he said.
