Bids will be accepted for installing the new hardwood flooring in the gym at the ASPIRE Center.

The Parks and Recreation Committee met on Tuesday, April 16 and
discussed the project. Monticello Flooring has agreed to donate the
new flooring for the ASPIRE Center. The committee has also received
several donations that will be used to pay for the costs of
installation of the flooring.
Parks and Recreation Director Lonnie Chaplin and County Judge-
Executive Mike Anderson will put together a bid sheet to advertise
for the floor installation. The bid will not include the demolition
of the existing floor, since Jeff Choate has volunteered to take it
up and remove it.
The committee also discussed another improvement project at the
facility. The community pool needs some repair work prior to the
upcoming swim season.
The committee agreed to get quotes for someone to either patch or
coat the entire pool. City employees will be used to drain the pool
so that the work can be done.
    In other action, the committee:
    • Discussed how they would handle recognition for those who have
committee making donations to the ASPIRE Center floor.
    • Agreed to look into the purchase of a camera system for the park
and the ASPIRE Center.
    • Directed Chaplin to find someone to grade the timber on the newly purchased property at the park.
