Community Telecom Services will soon have a new location. The cable

company will move to the former RECC building, located on Hardwood Drive,

sometime next month.

The Telecommunications Board met in regular session on Wednesday, May 21

and approved the lease agreement with RECC. Under the 20-year lease, CTS

will pay $700 per month for the building.

Board chairman Greg Latham noted that the building will be more

convenient to customers and it already has a drive-through window which will

allow CTS to provide better service. He said that the move to the new

location should begin sometime in June.

During the meeting, the board met in executive session to discuss their

strategic business plan and a personnel matter.

After returning to the meeting, the board authorized CTS manager Shane

Stockton to hire a technician from applications that are already on file.

Latham noted that CTS is currently contracting for the work right now,

but noted that the additional technician could save them as much as $1,500

per month.
