Employees of the Monticello Utility Commission will receive a 3.5 percent pay increase in the next fiscal year, following action taken during a meeting held Thursday, June 6.

Commission members discussed options for a pay increase for employees during the meeting and decided on the recommended 3.5 percent raise.

The commission also decided to keep their property insurance with
Assured Partners for the next year. They will use the city's plan
with Kentucky League of Cities for workers compensation insurance
next year.
Commission members were updated regarding the need for a grinding
station at the wastewater treatment plant.
This will help alleviate some of the problems that the plant has
been encountering regarding trash that is introduced into the system.
MUC Manager Scott Upchurch stated that the grinder station would
save wear and tear on the equipment at the lift station.
They will get more specifics in regard to cost and provide the
details to commission members before a decision is made.
The next meeting of the Monticello Utility Commission will be held
Wednesday, July 3 at 9 a.m. The board changed the date because of the July 4th holiday.
