John Boston, age 96, of Monticello, Ky., passed away Thursday, January
15, 2009 at the Wayne County Hospital.
He was born August 11, 1912 in Montcello, Ky., the son of the late James
Boston and Emma (Koontz) Boston.
He married Mamie Jane Alexander, who preceded him in death.
He is survived by two sons-John Lewis, Jr. and William "Bill" Boston,
both of Monticello, Ky.; four daughters-Dorothy Edna (Raymond) Collins of
Winchester, Ky., Lela Irene Key of Indianapolis, Ind., Mary Jane Keith of
Monticello, Ky., and Susie Mae (Tommy) Jones of Springville, Ind.; one
sister-Emma Jane Bates; step-children-Tammy Martin, Sharon Crain, Charlene
Wills, Shirley Sexton, Randall, Owen, Benny, Norman, Tom and Tony Bowman;
good friend-Mildred Bowman; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, January 18, 2009 at 2 p.m. in the
funeral home chapel with Bro. Mike Wells and Bro. David Vaughn officiating.
Burial followed in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
