ABBIE EVELYN GARLAND

Abbie Evelyn Garland, age 84 of Gurley, Ala., passed away Saturday, May

9, 2009 at the Regency Health and Rehabilitation in Huntsville, Ala.

She was born April 29, 1924 in Coopersville (Wayne County), Ky., the

daughter of the late Perk and Emma Dobbs Bell.

She married Richard Garland in 1947, who preceeds her in death.

She is survived by one son-Richard D. Garland of Huntsville, Ala.; one

daughter-Judy (and Gary) Barker of Gurley, Ala.; and one sister-Christine

Decker of Monticello, Ky.

She is preceded in death by three sisters-Bertha Dobbs, India Foster,

and Clara Foster; and two brothers-Arthur and Hobert Bell.

Mrs. Garland was a homemaker and has lived in Madison County, Ala. for

the past 20 years. She was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in

Huntsville, Ala.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at 10 a.m. in the

funeral home chapel with Rev. Dylan Mays officiating. Burial followed in the

Piney Grove Cemetery #2 in Nancy, Ky.

Lake Cumberland Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
