Anna Ilene Jones Chriswell, age 80, was born in Wayne County, April 27,
1929 the daughter of the late Obie Ephriam and Anna Ruth Coffey Jones. She departed this life Tuesday morning, April 6, at the Sunrise Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after an extended illness.
On May 7, 1948 she united in marriage with Ernest Gifford Chriswell, who passed away June 4, 1999. To this 51 year union two daughters survive-Elizabeth and her husband Jerry Lair and Wanda and her husband Terry Matthews.
Also surviving are her grandchildren-Andrea Lair, Heather (Carl) Bryant, Chad (Heather) Lair, Danica (Tony) Kidd and Danny (Stacy) Coffey; great-grandchildren-Alyssa and Andrew Lair, Sarah and Jenna Bryant and Eligah and Aiden Coffey.
Surviving are her brothers-Willard Jones, Dallas (Irene) Jones, Daniel
(Faye) Jones and her sister Delores (Joe) Correll with several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
She kept her home while working in the Monticello School System and was a seamstress with Monticello Manufacturing. As a young lady she accepted Christ as her Savior and was a member of the Spann Hill Baptist Church.
The funeral service was held Thursday morning with Bro. Charles Eugene Dick officiating. Burial was in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
