Richard Murphy, age 54 of Monticello, Ky., passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Ky.
He was born January 31, 1956 in Opelika, Ala., the son of the late Billy Murphy, Jr. and Betty (Doler) Chelmo.
He is survived by: his fiancée-Tara Piercy of Monticello, Ky.; one son-David Murphy of Monticello, Ky.; three daughters-Kayla St. Pierre of Springfield, Tenn., Melisa Chase of Mims, Fla., and Christan Piercy of Monticello, Ky.; two grandchildren-Savannah and Makenzie Chase; three brothers, Kenny Wayne Murphy, Ronald and Robert ³Bobby² Hurston; one sister-Regan Dane; and two wayward sons-Jordan Witt and Cody Pendleton.
He served his country by joining the US Army in 1973 and was honorably discharged in 1976.
No public funeral service.
