Lindy E. Mabe passed away on May 4, 2010 after a brief illness. She was born on April 14, 1928 in Cold Spring, Ky., the son of William and Gladys Estes Mabe.
He enlisted and served four years in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Upon returning from the Navy he worked for Ford Motor Company in Cincinnati, Ohio. Lindy held several U.A.W. positions including Chairman and he negotiated many landmark contracts that helped the working men and women in the local.
He is survived by his wife, Thelma; his only son-Danny L. Mabe; and grandson-Danny D. Mabe of Urbandale, Iowa; granddaughter-Tiffany Hartman; and three great-grandchildren of Cincinnati, Ohio. Also surviving is his
stepson- Austin Ray Hicks; and step grandchildren-Chloe Adison Hicks and Haley Michelle Taylor.
Lindy was buried at Williamstown, Kentucky Veterans Cemetery.
