DOROTHY BATES JESSEE

Dorothy Bates Jessee, age 101, of Macomb, passed away at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at the Elms Nursing Home in Macomb.
She was born February 2, 1908 in Monticello, Ky., to the late Harrison and Ina Rector Bates.
She married Jack W. Jessee on August 7, 1947 in Louisville, Ky., he preceded her in death on December 30, 1974.
She is survived by three nieces-Marsha Burton, Gail Bates, both of Louisville, Ky. and Barbara Ormsby; one nephew Earl Rankin Bates of Louisville, Ky.; and five great nieces and nephews.
She was a member of the Fortnightly Club, WIU University Women, League of Womens Voters and Macomb Country Club. She attended the Universal Unitarian Church and the Industry Assembly of God Church.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 19, 2009 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jon Keck officiating. Cremation followed after the services. Burial of ashes will be in Oakwood Cemetery at a later
date.
