MARY J. SMITH

Mary J. Smith, age 81 of Monticello, Ky., passed away Monday, January 18, 2010 at her home.
She was born August 26, 1928 in the Parnell Community of Monticello, Ky., the daughter of the late Miles and Martha (Humble) Parmley.
She married Bro. Harold H. Smith on January 31, 1949, who survives.
She is also survived by six children-Shirley (Steve) Sullivan, Samie (Earlene) Smith, David (Linda) Smith, Janet (Max) Worley, Danny (Melody) Smith, and Johnny (Sandy) Smith; three brothers-James, Olen, and Donald Parmley; three sisters-Eva Whitt, Lela Daniels, and Jean Britt; 17 grandchildren-Lytha Stover (Brent), Tonya Arnold, Stephanie Sullivan, Amy Smith, J. C. Smith, Heather Godsey, Michael Smith (Linda), Stuart Smith (Crystal), Jerry Worley (Kendra), Mary Angela Gray (Russell), JoAnna Smith (Andy), Harold Smith (Kim), Matthew Smith (Keisha), Charity Massengale
(Travis), Lindsey Smith, Hannah Smith, Abigail Smith; 20 great-grandchildren-Erin, Katy, Callie, Erica, Ashley, Jessica, Brandon, Sara, Star, Jasmine, Katilin, Jessica, Alecia, Isabella, Constance, Emmarae, Annalee, Lily, Mackilee, Carter Shane
She was preceded in death by three brothers-Glen, Robert, and Johnny Parmley; five infant brothers and sisters.
She accepted the Lord as her Savior and was saved at the young age of nine. She was a member of Parnell Baptist Church until her passing.
She was a good and faithful wife of 61 years, a loving mother and a kind and motherly sister to all her family until her death. She will be sadly
missed by all.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Jeff Allen officiating. Burial followed in the Parnell Baptist Church Cemetery.
