ATHELENE LEWIS BONE

Athelene Lewis Bone, age 86, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2009.
She was born April 23, 1923 in Nash County, the daughter of the late Leonard A. and Anna Nobles Lewis.
She is survived by one daughter-Claudia Bone Jones and husband-Frank of Monticello, Ky.; one son-John S. Bone, Jr. and wife-Myra of Kitty Hawk; sister-Joanne Grubbs of Deep Run; brother-James Lewis of Rocky Mount; grandchildren-Ginger Adams, Kim Wells, John Brady Bone and Ashley Ladd; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband-John Samuel Bone, Sr.; one sister-Mariam L. Langley; and brothers-Leonard A. Lewis, Benjamin T. Lewis and Tommy C. Lewis.
She was the former owner and operator of Sam Bone Jewelers and was a member of Englewood Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Michael Cloer officiating. Burial followed at Pineview Cemetery.
