Pumpkin Festival set at Tradeway Shopping Center
Pumpkin harvest time is nearly here, and the search is on for the “great pumpkin” in Wayne County. The Monticello-Wayne County Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring its first Great Pumpkin Festival on Saturday, October 16 in the parking lot of the Tradeway Shopping Center.
The festival will feature contests for the Biggest Pumpkin and the Prettiest Pumpkin and there will be a $500 cash prize split between the winners of these contests. There is no entry fee and pumpkins can be weighed beginning October 11 at Wayne Feed and Supply. The festival will feature several other contests, games and events. Ben West will provide deejay entertainment. The rain date has been set for October 23.
Anyone who would like more information about the Great Pumpkin Festival should contact Thompson at (606) 348-3064.
