Roadside Pride Month
October is Roadside PRIDE Month in Wayne County and volunteers are urged to participate in the campaign to clean up roadways around the county. County Judge-Executive Bruce Ramsey signed a proclamation recently designating Roadside PRIDE Month.
Several teams have already volunteered to participate and more are needed. Wayne County is among several counties that can compete for a cash prize through the Roadside PRIDE competition. A $1,000 prize is provided by the Southern and Eastern Kentucky Tourism Development for cleaning the most road miles within a scenic byway.
PRIDE is providing vests, gloves and garbage bags for this volunteer effort. For more information contact Wayne County Solid Waste Coordinator Andrew Parmley at (606) 348-8522 or 307-5065 or the County Judge-Executive’s Office at (606) 348-4241.
