JAMES “JIM” WILLIAM MCGINNIS Feb. 19, 1934-Oct. 12, 2004 James “Jim” William McGinnis, age 70, of Monticello, Ky. passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Ky. He was born in Wayne County, Ky. on February 19, 1934, the son of the late Floyd McGinnis and Bessie Brown McGinnis. On July 3, 1965, he married Daisy Gunter McGinnis, who survives. He is also survived by four daughters-Diana Corder of Monticello, Ky., Lessia Zimmerman of Somerset, Ky., Sylvia McGinnis and Judy Haney, both of Monticello, Ky.; one step son-James “Pete” Gunter of Georgetown, Ky.; two brothers-Charles Willis McGinnis and Elbert McGinnis, both of Indianapolis, Ind.; one sister-Minnie Hicks of Wayne County, Ky.; three grandchildren; four step grandchildren; one step great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by one daughter-Tressia McGinnis, who died in infancy; three brothers-Shirley McGinnis, Mintford McGinnis, and Otha McGinnis; and two sisters-Leavie Pyles and Lilly Hicks. He had accepted Christ as his Savior. Funeral services were held Saturday, October 16, 2004 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Luther Dishman officiating. Burial was in Elk Spring Cemetery. Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Add a comment |
