The local National Guard Unit will depart sometime around November 17,

according to a spokesperson in the public relations department of the

Kentucky Army National Guard. Specific times, as well as a specific

destination for members of Battery C, have not officially been released to

the media.

A press release issued in September stated that Battery C would depart

from Monticello on November 17. All members of the 1st Battalion, 623rd

Dix, New Jersey within days of their mobilization dates, according to the

press release.

The 1st Battalion 623rd Field Artillery includes Headquarters Battery in

Glasgow, Battery A in Tompkinsville, Battery B in Campbellsville, and

Battery C in Monticello. The information released in September noted that

Headquarters Battery and Battery A were slated to mobilize November 7.

Battery B and Battery C were slated for mobilization on November 17.

My fiance' is in the national guard and he come home for x-mas as everyone knows. But he is gone again and I won't get to see him until he comes home for his 2 week r&r. That won't be until like july or august probably. I miss him sooooo much and I cannot wait till I get to see him again. May god be with him and the rest of those great brave men.
