Alcohol, drugs not factor in fatal crash
Melodie Phelps
News Editor

Alcohol and drugs were not a factor in a one-vehicle automobile accident

that claimed the life of a local woman in August.

Toxicology reports from the Kentucky State Police lab found no alcohol

or drugs in the system of Eric Dolen, who was driving the vehicle in which

Amanda Slaven Rose, 22, died. The accident occurred on August 12 on KY 92,

east of Monticello.

Rose suffered serious head and chest injuries, when the Chevrolet Blazer

she was a passenger in left the roadway and struck a tree. She was airlifted

to the University of Kentucky Medical Center where she died several hours

later.

Dolen was taken to the Wayne County Hospital after the accident for a

blood test, which is standard procedure for any driver involved in a

fatality, according to the Wayne County Sheriff¹s Department.

He was cited at the time for no insurance and expired registration

receipt.

Wayne County Sheriff James Lynn Hill said that the case was presented to

the Wayne County Grand Jury on Tuesday, November 16. No indictment was

returned against Dolen following the grand jury session.
