Miller charged with assault A local man sustained head injuries and another man was arrested following a fight that apparently occurred on Cherry Street on Thursday, November 18. According to the Monticello Police Department, Sammy Joe Coffey, 48, of Cherry Street, was transported by EMS to the Wayne County Hospital and later airlifted to the University of Tennessee for treatment of head injuries. Johnny Lee Miller, 40, was taken into custody and charged with second degree assault. He was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
