Packages for Battery C need to be brought to Armory

Anyone who has packages for members of the local National Guard unit to

be delivered this month should bring them by the Armory for distribution

when Battery C comes home on holiday leave.

Members of the Family Support Group for Battery C expect the soldiers to

arrive in Monticello sometime on December 23. A local fundraising effort

made it possible for the members of the local unit to travel back home for

Christmas from Ft. Dix, New Jersey where they are training before deployment

overseas.

After December, any group or residents who are participating in the

Adopt-A-Soldier Program should bring monthly packages to the Armory on the

second Monday of each month. Boxes will be mailed together around the 15th

of each month, so they will arrive around the end of the month. Shipping for

the boxes must be paid for at the post office before they are dropped off at

the Armory.

Anyone who would like more information about the Adopt-A-Solider Program

may contact Robin Simpson at (606) 340-2431 after 6 p.m. or Kara Lester at

(606) 348-1547.
