Methamphetamine, marijuana, firearms found

The Wayne County Sheriff¹s Department seized a quantity of

methamphetamine, more than two pounds of marijuana and several firearms

from a residence in the Griffin area on Saturday, January 1. A local man,

David M. Shelton, 40, has been arrested and charged with trafficking in

marijuana, trafficking in methamphetamine and possession of drug

paraphernalia.

According to Sheriff James Lynn Hill, Shelton was originally taken into

custody on a grand jury indictment from Clinton County. Suspicious

circumstances at the scene of the arrest led to an investigation by the

Wayne County Sheriff¹s Department and Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Officer

Sharkley Stonewall.

Officials seized 2.5 pounds of marijuana, 10 grams of methamphetamine

and 21 firearms.

Shelton was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
