ROY STONE SMITH Sept. 20, 1925-Feb. 12, 2005 Roy Stone Smith, age 79, of Marion, passed away Saturday, February 12, 2005 at his home. He was born September 20, 1925 in Monticello, Ky., the son of the late John Martin and Ida Mae Huckaby Smith. He married Mildred Morgan on January 18, 1947, who survives. He is also survived by three sons-Randall Wade Smith of Marion, and Terry Lee Smith, of Parker, Colo.; one brother-Marvin Edward Smith of Clarksville, Tenn.; one sister-Joyce Imogene Cooper of Monticello, Ky.; and four grandchildren. Preceding him in death was two brothers-Johnny Howard Smith and Gilbert Ray Smith. He was an Army veteran of World War II, earning a bronze star. He worked for 20 years at Sweetser Lumber Company/ Marion Do It Center. He attended Grace Community Church. Private family services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Huntington County. Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service in charge of arrangements. Reader Comments Roger K. Smith (2/19/2005) A first cousin of Roy remembers him with many fond memories even though it has been several years since I had seen him.
