ESSIE RAY PIERCY Jul. 10, 1920-Mar. 16, 2005 Essie Ray Piercy, age 84, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at the Jamestown Regional Hospital in Jamestown, Tenn. He was born July 10, 1920 in Wayne County, Ky., the son of the late Johnny and Emma Asberry Piercy. He married Mary Alice Dishman Piercy, who preceded him in death. He is survived by two daughters-Eva Mae Buck of Jamestown, Tenn., Ella Piercy Phelps of Kentucky; five sons-Robert, Mack, Frank, Don and Dallas Piercy, all of Monticello, Ky.; one sister-Irene Crouch; one brother-Nimrod Piercy; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death was four infant children; one brother-Albert; two sisters-Lora and Clara; and one grandchild. He had accepted Christ as his Savior and was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, March 19, 2005 in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Corb Hicks officiating. Burial was in the Chestnut Grove Cemetery. Hickey and Son Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Add a comment |
