JIMMIE BURNETT SMITH Mar. 4, 1918-Mar. 23, 2005 Jimmie Burnett Smith, age 87, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at Wayne County Hospital. She was born March 4, 1918 in the Mt. Pisgah community of Wayne Co., Ky., the daughter of the late Wendell and Flora Hurt Burnett. She married Everette Smith on December 24, 1936, who preceded her in death. She is survived by three children-Carolyn Bennett, Donna Johnson and Roger Smith; two sisters-Dorothy Love, Jean Kendrick; four brothers-Larry, Kenneth, Lyle and Earl Burnett; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was four children-Glenna Faye, Willard Douglas, Edsel Edward and Hattie Mae. She had accepted Christ as her Savior and was a member of the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, March 26, 2005 in the funeral home chapel with Bro. David Frost and Bro. Curtis Burnett officiating. Burial was in Elk Spring Cemetery.
